If you could host a dinner and anyone you invite was sure to come, who would you invite?

As I prepare for a special evening of food, laughter, and heartfelt memories, I find myself reflecting on the women who walked with me through some of the most defining moments of my life.

My sisters. My very first and still-current best friends. These aren’t just guests to a dinner—I’m inviting the heartbeat of my personal history.

Each woman I’ve invited played a vital role in my becoming. They didn’t just witness chapters of my life—they helped me write them. This dinner is a tribute to that sisterhood, to those unspoken bonds and years of grace that still linger like music in the background. I’m envisioning a table full of warm candlelight, handwritten notes at each place setting, and a moment where each sister gets to share a memory—funny, meaningful, or tender—that reminds us of why we’re all sitting there together.

I want the energy of the night to be cozy, celebratory, and deeply felt. The kind of evening where you leave not just full from the meal, but full from the love.

What do you think gets better with age?

Let me be honest. Stepping into 58 ain’t just a birthday—it’s a reckoning. A moment where every scar has a story. Every laugh line has a testimony. Every tear I didn’t let the world see… has turned into wisdom that wakes folks up.

This ain’t about aging gracefully. It’s about aging truthfully. So here’s my open-hearted answer for the ones who’ve asked: “What gets better with age?”

My Voice Got Braver I used to second-guess my truth. Now I speak from places only pain, God, and grace could reach. When I blog, when I post, I’m not performing—I’m pouring. And I know when a story lands, it’s because somebody needed it like air. That knowing? That’s grown-woman power.

My most influential teacher? Why?

Mrs. Shadinski

She was my third grade teacher. She was kinda mean. But one thing for sure she didn’t play and meant BUSINESS when it came to multiplication.

Looking back she would scream but I loved her. I was learning because she wanted me to win. I felt it. She wanted all of us to win. That’s when I bucked down and learned it. Even though math is not my strongest subject, I still know my MULTIPLICATION.

Who are your favorite people to be around?

I love the company of CHILDREN AND SENIORS.

Children are so funny. They tell you the truth for a fact I know. Kids have the funniest reaction to things and situations that they wouldn’t be honest about if they were older. This is the true honesty of a child. I love that about them.

Seniors on the other hand are packed with life lessons. I’m 57, their stories pack powerful punches that I would love to hear. They also will tell you the truth and all the consequences that come with it.

You get some great, amazingly fantastic news. What’s the first thing you do?

I told my family time and time ago. I’m not a lottery player but lately it’s been fun playing because I really want to hit the Mega Millions.

We all agreed that if anyone of us hit, that we would call a meeting IMMEDIATELY absolutely IMMEDIATELY to moms place.

Our phone call to each sibling, the 4 of us ((everyone call up their own kids)) later when they find out the news. We would say there is a meeting at mom’s NOW, and that it’s good news. Of course we’ll ask each other did you hit the lottery? For me I’ll say I’m not telling, but be there in one hour.

And when everyone get there, they will find out they’re millionaires.

That’s our promise to each other. Call an IMMEDIATE MEETING.

The most important invention in your lifetime is…

My WICKLESS CANDLES!

When people see my candles they always ask, where are the wicks? They’re wickless.

I made and started selling candles without wicks.

I absolutely love these candles. They are made without a wick but you need a candle warmer to heat them. The scent is AMAZING.

These candles are especially made for people who work in the office and aren’t allowed to have wicked candles that can burn and cause an accident. These are also made for the smaller rooms and for rooms where kids can’t accidentally come in contact with the flame.

People really love them once they smell for themselves and how amazing long they last.

I’ll be putting them back in our website in March. We have them all in many of your favorite scents.

What books do you want to read?

I read mostly romantic books and Spiritual books.

What is my dream job?

Best question ever.

To continue making candles. Also to dedicate 3 hours a day driving around and looking for people to help.

I want to pass out food to the homeless, clothes, drinks, shoes, gloves whatever the need. I also want to give out money. This has been my dream for years. I’ve always fed the homeless but this dream takes it higher.

From our Feed The Homeless for Thanksgiving photos.
