Sail On My Friend/BLOG

Hey Family!

I know its been a while since I’ve written anything here. But I lost my MALE BEST FRIEND to a trucking accident. He was a local truck driver. He’s been since I met him over 22 years ago. He loved to drive state to state for 2-3 weeks at a time, but since he started having grand children he wanted to be home more to spend time with them, so he changed his shift to locally.

January 10, 2019, My sister called me. I was taking a nap. I saw that it was her and answered the phone. She asked me if I had seen anything on FB about my BFF Rodney dying in a trucking accident. I sat straight up in bed as my heart started beating fast, I told her No. She told me to get on line, and go to our brother ex wife page. It read RIP Rodney Adams, and I was SHOCKED!!! I was mad at her for posting it, I wanted her to take it down. I was in denial and didn’t want to believe it. I asked her where did she hear that from? She told me from someone she knew. So, I went to his mom’s page, his daughter, sons, BFF, his siblings and NOTHING. No one had said a word. I couldn’t cry because I didn’t believe it. Not MY BEST FRIEND!

As the night went on I was glued to all of their FB pages and finally his sister posted. I was devastated. I knew it was true then. Still I couldn’t cry because I had just spoken with him less than 2 weeks before. We worked different shifts and when we talked over the phone.. WE TALKED!!!!!. He always made me laugh with his stories. I use to call him just so that he could make me laugh.

I can’t believe that I wont see my friend anymore. His BFF Mike for over 45 years was calling him to say that his MOTHER had passed away, just to find out the HE (((Rodney)))  had too on the SAME DAY.

There was a HUMAN WASTE spill on I-75 that was backed up for miles and miles and miles. After “cleaning up” the right lane only ((( they were STILL cleaning up the other lanes))) they had to open it up to release the traffic. Well…. all of the waste along that right lane wasn’t completely gotten up. A trailer truck carrying a camper slid in the right lane on the waste  leaving part of the camper hanging out of the right lane. He got over as much as he could from on coming traffic. Then Rodney comes along driving his truck, SLID in the waste as well and slammed right into the back of the man and his trailer. The driver was okay had a few injuries. The family said the first responders prayed with Rodney as he was pinned to his truck. He was in and out, after the prayer they told the family that he complained of his legs hurting. As soon as the jaws of life pulled him out, he died INSTANTLY.

The days after as it sunk in, I have crying spells daily. Even to this day. I think about him calling me all the time as he drove.

His family put him away beautifully.  I miss my silly friend. He loved people, and LOVED HIS FAMILY. They said that so many times at his service, how he loved his Facetime LIVES, his family, especially his grandkids, family barbecues, Prince and his Superfriends. They are made up about 7-8 friends who went to high school together.

One thing I am grateful for…. his relationship with God. He LOVED GOD. They had the best relationship I can say this myself. I can’t wait to see him again.

Here is a song that his sister and her husband sung at his service. It happens to be one of my favorite songs from a CD I purchased years and years ago.

Rest Rodney. I love you.

The BIG Picture/BLOG

Being the oldest, is hard work. I’m 50 years old and I still ask God why did you make me the OLDEST?

I ask this question so often that every time I make a decision, give advice or opinion, he always whisper to me… “THAT’S WHY YOU’RE THE OLDEST.”

Growing up I always wanted to be a Teacher or a Lawyer. I love reading , I love teaching people what I learned (( especially my siblings)) then I pass it down to others.

I’ve always had the ability to see the BIGGER PICTURE. To see the situation out in its entirety. I don’t know if I learned this from my parents growing up, or if God gave me these gifts to help myself and others. Let me give an example.

A woman purposely threw a cellphone of the person they were mad at and broke it. He was mad,  she apologized. She promised him that when she got paid she would buy him another phone. Well, before that time came, he made her mad again, she told him that she wasn’t going to replace the phone. This made him angry.

That day he PROMISED her in text messages that he was going to get her back ((REVENGE)) for it. After she sent me all the back and forth texts I told her that I was scared and that he might do something real bad to her. Her text back to me was : “You keep saying that like you want him too.”  (( I told her  this many times in the past, the way their relationship is, someone is going to get hurt one day.”)) I was done. Shocked. Mad at her.

That VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY same night, while she was in the shop getting braids done, he came and knifed all 4 BRAND NEW tires.

I was one of the first people she called. I love my friend and will always be there for her, I just know with her……. I have to step back and let things happen.

I can always see the BIGGER PICTURE. You cant do something to someone these days and not expect for them to do something back. When you do A. to someone, expect them to do B. to you. Not everyone will do A. to you, those are the ones who have enough sense to know that this person cannot be trusted, and not to deal with them anymore. Because they’re the ones who will cause you to get in BIGGER TROUBLE. Sooner or later playing these types of games.. someone is going to get mad and do something about it.

Many people have came to me and told me things before they happened, and I didn’t listen…. but I listen now.

Loyalty/ Congratulations…. JONATHAN AND ASHLEY… (((BLOG)))

ASHLEY

HEY!!!

Its Saturday night and I want to go to the casino. I love sitting at the bar watching the entertainers. There’s a lot of great singers out there.  I just talked to my Sister and we’re going Thursday night. Should be fun. I get in my moods where I want to do some grown folks stuff. I’m not a drinker, but I LOVE music and socializing. There have been lots of concerts this summer. I’ve been slipping on my concerts… I don’t like that one bit. But things will get better for me, and I’ll be back doing the things I enjoy soon enough.

So….. last night I was chatting with someone and they were telling me how LOYAL.. I am….. and how they admire that about me. Even though I was “playing dumb” with her about PRIVATE AND PERSONAL things….she still felt offended by me not sharing. I’ve been down that rode where I trust people with info and it back fired in my face. I have learned over the years… that what I know… I KNOW. I will NEVER share anything about another person again. So, if that’s considered “playing dumb”…. I LIKE THAT GAME… But in a sense … it made me sad…. because the person she is … I LOVE THE MOST.

Today my gurl Ashley got married. I met her at Walmart where we all became ONE BIG FAMILY… we are DEEP . She moved to North Carolina and met her husband. I AM SO SO SO HAPPY FOR YOU.. CONGRATULATIONS JONATHAN AND ASHLEY. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU BOTH!

BE BLESSED!

This post is from a good friend of mines. If you are lead to help her with donations for a Lawyer.. please do so.  THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

Hello all!! I am currently raising funds to pay for what may be potentially two lawyers (one in Georgia and one in Illinois) to fight my abusive ex in court who has decided to sue me for full custody of our daughter and refuses to bring her home to Chicago from her summer visitation with him which puts him in contempt of our current custody agreement. Many of you may already know my story, if you don’t, a link will be provided below to my blog detailing my story. (Please excuse my language in the blog because it was written prior to me turning my life over to Christ.) Since we moved to Chicago, he has summoned me to Georgia on what will now be my 5th time. Since I have a permanent restraining order on him, he has abused the courts to file for modifications to our agreement. I have gone so far as to cut off the child support just so I can have some peace and hoping he will leave me alone, but he has not. He has been successful partly because I still had a victim’s mentality and did not want to rock the boat and partly because I could never afford representation so that I could adequately fight him in court. But no more!!! IF I need the lawyer in Georgia because the Illinois lawyer is not successful in transferring venues, that lawyer would be used to get the change of venue and hold him in contempt of the original agreement as well as hold him in contempt for filing our daughter on his taxes. The Illinois lawyer will be used to start my case here in Illinois, establish my custody case as Illinois as my home and file for modifications as well as close up the many loop holes. I was served by the Sheriff’s department on Saturday, August 16th and I have court Tuesday, September 9th in Georgia. Time is of the essence and school starts in Chicago soon. She is in a selective enrollment school and if she is not in attendance, it is possible she will lose her slot. Funds raised will also be used, if necessary, to fly to Georgia and to bring my 11 year old daughter home. I am a survivor, as you will read in the link below, I have survived so much and I will survive this too and God WILL get the Glory anyhow!!! Thank you for reading and being a blessing!! http://www.misfit4lyfe.blogspot.com/2012/12/lisas-story-part-1.html?m=1
