Have this ever happened to you?

Starting a new relationship is hard! Flat out! When meeting someone new you are hoping and praying that this guy/gurl is for you. You start talking to him/her on the phone getting to know his/her likes and dislikes, you hear of all the people in his /her life. You hear how much he/she loves his job, you know his/her favorite cologne, you know his/favorite color, his/her voice drives you wild.
 
Then you finally meet again. For some reason he/she looks different, not all that cute, not all that tall, not all that attractive, not all of what you saw when you first met. Something about him/her is just not there. The whole atmosphere is different.

15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

 

Have you ever been at the home of a friend when suddenly the doorbell rings, and someone whom you’ve never met before walks in, and all of a sudden they light up the room with a smile and a warm “Hello Everyone†and its just something about them? For some reason you want to hear what this person has to say, you want to know them, you want to “feel†them, you want to know what is motivating them, lets be real ~ you want to know what’s going on with them. You want some too.

 

That’s what the bible is speaking of in  Matthew 5:16
16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

 

God wants us to be lights. He wants us walk in to a room and light it up with his presence. We are to shine. Walking into an atmosphere with your “light on†should give you power and authority to open the door to witness, testify, and communicate the word of God to someone.  With that power and energy you will be used as a vessel daily. Here are some helpful tips.

 

  1. Start the day off with prayer. Pray for peace, guidance, and a fresh bulb.
  2. Start your day with “smiley good mornings†to everyone in the home.
  3. Don’t have this “I’m not a morning person attitude†“GET OVER IT AND ON WITH IT!â€
  4. Think about how good God’s been to you and your family.

5. Sing songs of praise in your heart, and keep your mind on good things.

6. Make sure you are looking your best before leaving the house, this has a lot to do with your self-esteem and how you look to people when you speak. (we do look at people who enter the room from head- to- toe)

 

Matthew 6:23
23But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

 

Now: Have you ever noticed a person, who has walked into the room, with their faces all balled up and disfigured from making mean faces, with their mouth and lips poked out?  Then they walk pass you and roll their eyes at everybody? How can this person witness? Oh but what about that onnnnnnne “light†that walked into the room earlier?

 

The Parable of the Lost Coin ~ Luke 15:8-10

8“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins[1] and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

 

See what a light can do? 

 

 We have to be the one light that shines to open up a conversation with that person, a hello how are you doing, will start it up. That one bulb can light the whole place up, and what/who ever was lost can be found!  I have done it. When I walk into a room and see someone discourage, I feel that it’s my duty as a woman of God to talk to them, to open up the communication lines in leading them into personal prayer and conversation with God.

 

Questions :

 

  1. This morning when you entered the presence of your family how did you greet them?
  2. When you went to work this morning and walked into the room, how was your hello?  Was it dry (but at least you spoke) or was it perky and full of ump?
  3. Would you say right now that your light bulb is “bright, dim, or blowed�
  4. What are you willing to do each day, to make sure your light is shinning bright so that others may see it and praise God?

Things with the Lord that makes you go hmmmmm

This week Im going to focus on situations and how God is in the middle of it all. There are test in one’s life that you must pass in order to move on to the next phrase of you life,  its just that simple . Let me explain
 
I dont like or eat cheese period. I hate the smell of it. Years ago whenever I would go to a fast food resturant drive thru, I would order a hamburger w/o cheese, and no matter how many times I say no cheese, I would get home to find cheese on my food anyway. So one day I was at the drive thru, and I purposly told the lady no cheese at least 6 or more times. She promised me that she would check it herself. So when I got the food, my hamburger had cheese . I was outrage. I was so so upset. I think I lost it on her.
 
Then I sat there and thought about it. I said you know what? I know God is behind this. No way could I posibly say no cheese to that woman that many times and still get it anyway. I said satan wants me to get upset and go off, but God on the other hand is trying to tell me something. Lets see.
 
I thought about it. No matter how many times I tell the woman no cheese I would end up with it. I said Lord, this is a test. I know it I feel it.  I said Lord, I know this is you, ( smile) I need to pass this test in order to move on. And the reason why I keep getting cheese on my sandwich is because I havent passed the test yet.
 
From that point on, when I got cheese on my hamburger, I didnt get upset. I kindly ask them to fix it. Today I can count on my hands how many times cheese has end up on my sandwich. Not many at all. I finally past the test. That does not make me angry any more.
 
Now that youve read my story, can you think on a time where you keep being in the same situation? Are you dating the same kind of men, are you still getting the same ole jobs, do you keep having a argument with someone all the time? Well ask yourself……………. Lord, what is it that you are trying to tell me. What is it that you want me to learn from all this?

Do you live for the now……….or the later

Im going to be real honest. Back in the day early 20’s if Id met a guy and he was hot, pretty teeth, nice behind, thick, dark tall, with a sexy smile……………..it was on and poppin.

 I learned that sex is the easiest thing in the world to get. If you ask a man/woman for $25.00 the same day you met him,  you were feeling him and he was feeling you sexually you he would look at you like youre crazy.
 
A gold digger would be your new name to him, a person who is out for  money. But that same fool will turn around and ask you for the same thing that is written in the bible.  Your body!
 
15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”[b] 17But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. 1 Corinthians 6 (New International Version)

How many times have you see someone you use to kick it with and started thinking about that person all day? Then later when you get home he is on your caller ID? Thats because those spirits reconnected when you saw him earlier. But what happens when you are married and happy, then all of a sudden in one day you see 2 guys you had sex with in the past. You start thinking about them in the flesh. Of course you are not going to “hook up” with them. But you dont need to have that spirit inside you. Thats what God wants us to avoid. Its not good to have sex before marriage.
But as  got older ( 38) I realize that its deeper than sex. Its deeper than just seeing a guy that you are attracted too and wanting to have sex with him in that day or the week to come.

 

I laugh now cause Im looking at a bigger picture.  There are things  I need to know about him. I dont care how good he look, or how good our chemistry is, he has to have more going than sex. Wayyyyy more.

 

So to name a few

  • How do you treat and talk to  your mother/father/ sisters and brothers?

  • How do you handle a situation where you see me talking to a guy and you dont reconize him?

  • How long have you been at your job

  • Do he have a best friend and for how long?

Those are just a few questions that I need to know. There comes a time in your life when you want your own home,  when you want a truck of your choice sitting in your driveway, with no rust spots and accident marks on it. There come a time when you want 3-4 bed rooms instead of an apartment or flat. There comes a time when you take vacations at your job you want to take 3-4 weeks. Because you have been there a while  or least love your job to be in the process of being there long). There comes a time when you want your own personal bank account, he has his personal, there is a bill account, and a  joint savings account. There comes a time in your life when you want to look at your man/woman and you want to say come on boo lets go to Florida for 2 weeks. There comes a time when you want to have Barbeque’s a get togethers at your home with family and friends and when everyone is gone, you and your boo do the dishes.

 

Thats what Im talking about!

So my question to you: Do you think its possible for you to hold out on sex until you are married? Do you see and understand why God didnt want us to have sex before marriage? Do you feel that if you hold out on sex that, your boyfriend will end up cheating on you? Can you handle that part?

Are you Sarcastic?

 
 
 I must admit……….I am very sarcastic. I think that people who are sarcastic have minds that goes here and there on subjects. No matter how I try to tone it down, I am always saying something that I aint got no  business saying. Sometimes I just laugh at myself. cause I cant belive that I am saying it.
 
All my life I wanted to be a Lawyer. I would tear a court room up with my cross examinations, accusations. I would rode rule a court room. I love to ask questions. Let me tell yall, I will be asking you one question, and before you can get it out, I would be on my 3rd one. lol
 
People say Im nosey, but I just want to know. I want to know who was the person, have you seen him before, what color he had on, what kind of shoes he was wearing, how was his hair, teeth, car he was driving. what time was it, who knows him out here. I swear with my skills I would terrorize a court room.
 
 
Thats why I love to watch Judge Judy, and Judge Mathis. They have me hollering!!!! She is soooooooo sarcastic.
 
I have to keep on being honest. I wouldnt hurt a fly. Im nice and very funny. But when I get mad or Im being funny there are some things that I have said that makes me laugh even when I think of it.
 
My old time favorites\’ sarcastic lines:
 
  • When Im on the phone and Im arguing or debating with them, and the person hangs up on me,. I will call  them right back and say……….. sorry my phone messed up, it made a mistake and hung up. lol
  • If Im in my room and my daughter comes in and change the channel while I was in the bathroom. I will say, Imma have to take this TV back, cause the remote be making a mistake and turn the channel. ( my daughter be hollering laughing)
  • If I have a pop sitting on the table, and I look at it and its almost gone from my daughter sipping it. I\’ll say go in the refrigerator and get my pop cause this one aint mines.
  • When Im at work and my light is off  at my register( cashier) and a customer walks up and start putting their items on the counter, just because Im standing there. I will look at the light and say \”dang did my light pop on and I didnt know it\’? I have this stupid look on my face. lol
  • My daughter is always going in my purse for some gum, so when I see her, I\’ll say, when you buy that purse like mines, cause I knowwwwwwwwwwwwwww you aint going in mines w/o permission. Thats gotta be yours. lol

My Sister Peedie!

 

Hey Fam!
 
 Today I celebrate my sister Peedie! Peedie is my baby, I swear I had her, I love her sooooo soooo soooooo much.
 
Peedie is the baby of us 4. She feels she is suppose to get any and everything she ask for. I always tell her, when me and my other sister Na was getting whoopings where were you? lol Cause by the time she got old enough to get whoppings my mom and dad was tired! lollll. She missed out on all that.
 
Peedie is 32, a Capricorn and sweet as pie. We all ( gurls) try to get out and do sister things together. When we get mad at each other, we try to make friends before leaving who ever house we are at. We are always debating. We are a debating family lol. And my dad is the ring leader. My mom is a cancer and my dad a Scorpio. So we got all of that from him.
 
Peedie has 3 kids, Greg 15, Gary 12, and Ganell 10. They are my babies too. Me and Peedie live exactly 1-2 mintues away from each other. Our kids walk to each other house.
 
Last night I took her to see Gerald Levert in Casino, and my other sister Na, took us both out to dinner.
 
Today, I Thank God for giving me such beautiful and wonderful sisters. They are alllllllllllllllllll mines. lol

My brother Bobby

First of all before I start off this entry. I want to first Thank God for the brother and the 2 sisters that I have. I want to Thank God for hand picking them to be my sisters and my brother. Lord, Thank you for my up bringing, we were taught to love each other, and respect each other.
 
We grew up with both our parents and people use to say \”whats it like having both parents living with you all \”, and we use to say it feels normal. As we got older we realize that we had grew up different. We went to dinner every Friday when my dad got  paid, we had money everyday, we got allowances. We took trips and barbequed so much, that to this day, people say we are barbecuing and we are like UGHHHH. Looking back we really had a good life.
 
Lord, I want to thank you for my family. There is a reason why I am writting this blog tonight.
 
I went to see the play Casino with my 2 sisters Na and Peedie tonight, along with my sister Na best friend. While at dinner, she was amazed at how close we are, and how good we get along. Its like normal to us because we love each other sooooo much it just dont make no sense. I told Tatianna that we look at her as a sister ( she dont have any sisters) and she started crying. It was so touching. So Im saying to myself, wow everything my dad taught us growing up as far as us being family and not fighting each other, and being there each other paid off. Its like we see it, when people say wow yall are really close.
 
So tonight of this 4 part story of my brother and sisters, I celebrate my brother bobby first.
 
Bobby our only brother is 33. He is single! He\’s  a construction worker who loves his job. He works from May-Nov and makes over $80,000 a year! He was a Marine for 4 years and he is looking for love!
 
Bobby is a Scorpio! He loves to debate. I love my brother, but this boy will talk your ears off if he gets you in his truck, his room and his house. I swear you better have all your house choirs done, for the next day or so, or you hit! lol He is a sweetheart too. When we were young we couldnt fight it was a rule. So now that we are older, we get into heated debates. I mean heated. That was our only defense back them was to argu, to hear a walker family argument will scare you. We wont fight, but we bite. lol

Casino!

Hello Bloggers out there!
 
  Just got home from seeing the play with my boo Gerald Levert,  Kelly Price, and Tommy Ford. It was off the CHAIN!
The play was sooooo good. I swear I want to go back before the week is over. Kelly Price was looking so pretty. I am so proud of her. She lost a lot of weight, she got hips and butt with NO stomach, that\’s what Im talking about. She looks very nice.
 
Gerald Levert ahhhh . I love this man. He is so humble and so sexy. The way he looked at Kelly all though the play was melting to me. I really really enjoyed myself.
 
Gerald thank you for one of the best evenings of my life!
