This is the day that the Lord has made.

As some of you know, our new Church building opened the doors for the first time this past Sunday and we had a grand celebration. I started thinking about the conversation me and my friend Ki Ki had one day about big Churches. She belongs to a smaller Church, but has it instilled in her mind that she would never go to Mega Church because she feels that the Pastor wont know her, or that he\’s too busy for the members of his congregation. It really shocked me, and caught me off guard that she felt that way, because she\’s active in her Church, and a is faithful member.

No matter how I tried to get her not to think that way, and that she was only putting herself in a box, she still didn\’t get it. While in Church on Sunday and me marveling over the new facility, I thought about Ki Ki.

I remember back in my early teens, I use to go and visit my grandmother and down the street was this Church called Second Ebenezer Baptist Church. The members would park up and down the street You couldn\’t even leave and come back to your spot. They would fill up their parking lot, and then start parking around the corner as well. I use to say to myself, they have Church down there!!! Never knew in a million years that I would be a member.

Three months after they moved from Goethe to Grand Blvd, I went \”Church\” shopping and after visiting about 4 or 5 Churches one each Sunday, this is where my spirit rest. The moment I walked in I knew it was going to be my church home. I can just feel it, it grabbed me at the front door, I felt that all those Sundays I was \”shopping\” and there was where I was to \”rest my feet\”. My daughter was baptized that year Oct 2, 1994. And here it is Oct 10, 2007.

While @ Church this past Sunday when I was thinking about my friend Ki Ki. I started thinking about how far God has bought my Pastor. See Kiki is only looking at that Church building and how huge it is, she has no clue to the history of being in this place. I challenged her thinking and asked her this: Do you believe with all your heart that my next door neighbor can build a Mega Church, pass out fliers and fill the 3300 seats in it? She said No. I said that\’s right because where is the sweat? Where is the struggle? Where is the determination? I said our Church is a mega Church now, but do you know this:

The Reverend Edgar L. Vann Jr. accepted the position of pastor at Detroit\’s Second Ebenezer Baptist Church in 1977; just 21 years old at the time, he assumed control of a church that had missed its last 31 bank payments and which claimed only 66 members. During his first year Vann accepted no salary, supporting himself instead as a bank teller; over that 12-month period the church emerged from debt, and slowly its congregation rose to over 2,000 members. The youngest-ever leader of the Baptist Council of Ministers.

After I told her where he came from and not to give in to the words \”Mega Church\” understand the struggle. Don\’t just think he got it like that where he can build a Church, and pack the place. My Pastor started with 66 members………………COME ON NOW!!! She finally got it. You\’ve got to be a baby before an adult.

Why did I get married?………………PT9

My good friend Gloria and my sister Peedie USE to laugh and crack up when they would share with each other stories of how they wouldn\’t date a man who had a car. If they met a guy and he had a car, he got the boot. They didn\’t want to have anything to do with them. They felt that if he had a car, that would be less time they would get to spend together, because he would be doing other things as well.
I asked them why would you want a man like this, one who would have to depend on you all the time, wouldn\’t that get on your nerves? They were like nope. Thank God they do not think like this anymore.
Which brings me to this subject of having friends while married. I have 3 close male friends in my life right now, and whoever I marry will know that these 3 men have been my friends for a very long time, and that I want them to be in my life for the rest of my life. My husband will meet them way before we marry, and I hope that they will become friends as well.
Married Couples~, if you have friends before marriage and want to keep them around, make sure you marry a woman/man who has them as well. Because if you marry someone who doesn\’t like to socialize, go out with their boys/gurls, have company over, take short trips out of town, couple up and go to concerts and plays, YOU ARE GOING TO BE MISERABLE!!!
There is nothing so sad than a man/ or woman who don\’t have friends while the other spouse does. The person who doesn\’t have friends, can and will become clingy and will (not on purpose) not want to see you have fun with others outside of you. After a while this can become annoying, and can cause problems in the marriage. That person who often feels left out, will start to feel that if they can devote all of their time to you, then you should be able to do the same. I think that\’s selfish and unfair. Everyone needs someone outside of the marriage they can to talk. You just do!! Even if its your sisters, you need someone to go to for a number of things.
If you are one of those people who don\’t have friends. Go out and make friends on your job, hang out with your sister/brother, or even sister/brother in law. Go shopping, take a short trip for the weekend, come home and GET BOOED UP WITH YOUR HUSBAND/WIFE they will miss you.
I guarantee you, communication will be everything.

Cree\’s Ramblings

Cree\’s Ramblings
Oct, Oct, Oct!!! What a month. I have a lot on my plate this month. Our brand new Church open yesterday, and it is beautiful!!! I got up @ 6:00 am just to drive in line @ the old Church, so that we can be police escorted to our new Church. We had about 500-700 cars in the procession. It bought tears to my eyes to see so many people on one accord. When we got there, we had a ribbon cutting ceremony and when we marched in to our new building, there was the mass choir singing. I was in tears. The whole thing was so spiritual and so real. I got home about 3:00 PM. I laid on the couch for a while, then got up and watched Bridezilla ( that\’s another story). Took Neisha home and went to bed!!!
Got up this morning and went to work. Had to return my air bed, then I went to buy a blouse for the Tyler Perry play that\’s coming on Friday (Oct 12). From there I went to pay a bill, then to put my pant-Capri\’s in the cleaners. Dang, it was hot today. Here it is Oct and its almost 90 degrees, tell me the world ain\’t coming to an end. I was so hot when I left work today, I got instantly irritated. You know how its hot outside and you just want to finish doing what you are doing and get back in the house? That\’s how it was, no talking, no playing, no nothing!!! LOL
My gurl Cookie and her daughters are coming in on Thursday now instead of Friday morning. We got a lot planned. When she gets here on Friday, first thing we are going is going to purchase our TP WDIGM tickets for that night Oct 11. The day before the actually showing. Then after we have dinner, we are going to my Church to see TD Jakes!!! Yep, he will be here this Thursday and we plan to get there @ 5:00, I don\’t care how long we will sit before it start, I need to be there early for a good seat. When it comes to Church and functions I don\’t play that being late stuff. I can;t even remember a time when I was EVER late for Church.
Anyway, TD Jakes should be done by at least 10:30-11:00. And please don\’t let me forget the time it took to get out of that baby yesterday. We are headed straight to the midnight show. The next morning which is Friday Oct 12. I\’m going to pick up my rental truck and then were going out to dinner, or pick up something before we head to the play @8. Yesterday, I ordered and printed out our parking ticket from Ticketmaster. Last time I went to an event and when I went up to park, they were like you have to have a parking pass. I was like huh? A who? How do you get one of those? They told me to order it on line. So guess what? I got something fo dey butts, I GOT ONE THIS TIME!! LOL Its going to save money (its 20.00 plus to park at these downtown events) and time. Time is more important to me than money. Were going to go in, get a daiquiri and chill the heck out till the show starts.
But first………… tomorrow is a clean up day, my guest are coming in and I needs to clean!!! Then on Wednesday, I have another short day at work. LOL ROFL It kills my coworkers to see Cree leaving up outta there in 4 hours!!! Ain\’t gon lie, when they get those good days, it kills me too. LOL So, I\’m going to come home and then @ 5pm, I\’m going to Neisha\’s ( my daughter) place of living……….on campus. And go with her @ 6 to hear this Assistant Prosecutor speak about his cases. She wants to be an Assistant Prosecutor when she graduates from Law School in 4 years. We are Lawyers to our hearts, and when she asked me to go, I was like I get off at 1pm. BABY I\’M SO THERE WITH YOU! Then I\’m taking her to dinner, she doesn\’t know it tho. She\’s home every week, but I don\’t get a chance to spend one on one with her like we use to do. And boy did she remind me of that last night on the phone when she got back on campus. (hehehe). Imma come home hop on line for a minute and then go to bed, cause my gurl Cookie and my nieces come in early that next morning…how bout 11:30? I still gotta get my brows and nails done early Thursday.
Cookie leaves on Saturday mornin
g, and that\’s the day me and Neisha will be hanging out. Maybe go to the casino in our new loaner. LOL Maybe we\’ll go riding, and later that day, my mom want to go and see Tyler Perry\’s movie. So that\’s cool. Then on Sunday for our new Church time @ 10:00 am, Prophetess Janet Floyd will be out guest speaker. That following Sunday, we are having Perfecting Church Pastor Marvin Winans. I can\’t wait!!! I\’m going to a wedding on Oct 20, so my month is filled to the brim with festivities. I love it!!! I can hear my car now, saying, \”ma ma, ma ma I\’m hungry, feed me…..( gas). LOL
Listen to what I did. I had a taste for some cake right? Now that\’s my favorite desert. WE will fist fight over some cake………..I ain\’t playing. I will mess you up over some cake. My husband has to know that I\’m in charge of the flavoring of the cake, and who makes it. I have me very own cake decorator. She is been for years and years and years. Well, I cant back a cake to save my life. So I took my fat but to the store, bought some cake mix, eggs, and went home. I mixed all the ingredients together, got me a spoon, and glass of water, and went sat down at the computer. Sho did. I ate the cake just like that. NO, not all of it, just some of it. Well, I had a taste for it. I remember when we were young my momma use to let us \”lick\” the bowl all the time, and yep, I was the HEAD CHICK in charge. After I got tired of eating it, I threw the rest out. Whew it was good too.
Right now, this allergy is acting a fool on me. Sometimes I wish I could tell it , look……….we bout to go in the sto, don\’t be coughing, and sneezing all ova the place, you wait till we get back home or in the car before you start that mess. And when we get to the movies, don\’t be coughing and interrupting people while they are watching TV ( yep TV), that\’s rude. But oh well too bad, it has a mind of its own, and it will come out whenever he wants. hehe.
This man came through my line today. He was an older white man. And he said to me, why are you smiling and such in a good mood? I said sir, its because where ever I go, no matter what I do, I always get the best service. In a restaurant, a store, bank, beauty shop, any where. I always get good customer service, and so I said, this is my way of paying it back. This is to show my appreciation to God. He makes me happy, he makes me crack up at work. I cant be nothing but in a good mood.
Speaking of Pops!! I know he loves me, the bible says: in

Proverbs 13 (New International Version)

24 He who spares the rod hates his son,
but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.
He is always on me. I can\’t do anything wrong without I\’m being in my ear about it. He walks me mentally through the consequences of everything I want to do wrong. He makes me mentally feel how I would feel if I was to do it. And you know? That keeps me from doing and saying a lot of things. Just today……Lord forgive me. I had just got off work on my way home, I had got my blouse from the mall and was riding through Targets parking lot outside of the mall when this lady who happened to be the only person out, was walking with her basket down the lane where I\’m driving. So, I\’m like no she ain\’t????? So, as I\’m getting closer to her, I rev on the gas to speed up and let her know that I\’m behind her, no she didn\’t turn around slow down, look at me and then kept going. Talking about irritated? I laid on my horn for about 78 minutes!!! LOL I purposely tried to make my horn go out!!! I know that\’s bad………………..and that\’s why Pops ( God) got with me for that. I felt bad, now that I think back on it, it was funny. Man its hot here in Detroit………….. 90 degrees……..come on now, just let a sistah get home!!
Well, I\’m closing for now, gotta go and get my blogs together before this movie comes out. Make sure you go out and support my boo, my baby, my friend, Tyler Perry on Oct 12, Why did I get Married?
Yeahaaaaaaaaaaaa

Why did I get married? ………..PT8

Ladies, lets face it and get real about it. Men love sports. Its in their nature. They love the excitement, the tough ness, the drive, the dedication, the motivation. When it comes to a man watching his sports and you joining him. Its either you\’re all in, or you fall in! One or the OTHER.
Being single, I get to talk to my gurls and male friends that are married. And I have learned so much from them. I think about being married at 20 and realizing that I wouldn\’t KNOW JACK!! LOL
But I do know one thing, men loves a woman who loves to watch sports with him. Me? I love sports. I can tell you every every every every every play when it comes to football. I can measure right off rip when it comes to a first down, whether is short or good. I know a good kick off, a good field goal, and when its a flag/penalty. Foot ball is my favorite sport. And don\’t let him want to watch basketball, I got that too. And baseball………..whatchasay, I know every play there is in baseball. I know strikes and curve balls, all the players positions, when the manager is going to the bull pen to call another pitcher and everything. I don\’t know much about tennis, but I\’m willing to learn. I will watch a little of boxing, but I can\’t touch golf. Just for the fact of me thinking about \”whose going to go and get all them balls he hitting out there\”. Not me, that drives me crazy!!! I\’ll drive that car around all day tho. LOL .
Here\’s the deal.
Wives, if YOU don\’t enjoy sports, its OKAY, It really is. Don\’t take it to heart when your husband calls over a few of his friends to watch the game. Don\’t feel neglected. Enjoy that time for yourself. Before the game comes on, ask him what can YOU pick up from the grocery store for him and his friends to eat while the game is on? Its okay if they ask you to go get this and go get that for them. Men like to be pampered and spoiled too, just like us!!!
You are doing this for the man you chose to love. He will enjoy it. All while he\’s with this friends, he will be thinking about how good you treated them. Even if you chose to love a man who hardly shows/tell you he appreciates you, deep down he does. It\’s okay to make this time \”his\” time. Then go and get some YOU time in. Go shopping, or visit a friend, surf the net, or even call up some friends for a game of spades.
When the game is over, and the guys are gone, I bet you 100% of the time left, he\’s going to spend it with you. Why? Well for one, since you did go out shopping and made snacks for him and his buddies, he\’s automatically going to feel that he needs to let you know how much he appreciated it. You gave him his \”him\” time, you didn\’t guilt trip him on the fact that he\’s watching sports and not paying you attention, you didn\’t nag him to fix something he promised to do days ago, and………………his team probably won!!
So, I say that to say, if you love the game, join him. If you don\’t…..cater to him and find you something to do. When everyone is gone, its back to you and him. And it\’s O………..K

Why did I get married?………………PT7

The bible says:

Proverbs 27 (New Living Translation)

15 A quarrelsome wife is as annoying
as constant dripping on a rainy day.
16 Stopping her complaints is like trying to stop the wind
or trying to hold something with greased hands.

When I read that scripture first thing came to my mind was…………..how do God know that? Of course he knows that he made us. But my goodness that is so true!! LOL Im laughing cause the scripture says: Trying to stop her complaints is like trying to stop the wind or hold something with greased hands!!! Do you realize how hard that is? What is wrong with us? LOL How are we wired up so tough that its hard to stop?

I know I use to be the Queen of complaints, the Queen of arguing, the Queen of debating, the Queen of running my mouth following behind my boyfriend constantly talking, or calling him on the phone none stop until he turned the ringer off on me. What\’s up with that ladies? Why do we do that?

Well, I\’ll tell you this. If the bible warns us ahead of time and its ruining your marriage, you better read on to find a cure for it, because you can send your husband right to divorce court. I know it seems as if men are always doing something to provoke us into complaining, but its about self control. Men do not want to hear us constantly running our mouths and complaining all the time. They simply can\’t deal with it. I believe that they are not wired up for listening to all of that.

My brother always tell me, he can\’t deal with a woman with a mouth on her!!! He just can\’t do it. Take the time to sit down and talk to you husband, let him speak, and then you. Try to understand his point, don\’t yell, don\’t get all \”facial feature\” with him. If you don\’t come to a medium on the situation just go somewhere alone and regroup. Later on, I promise you things will clear up for the better.

Men, we don\’t mean to complaint so much, its just that we are really wired up something \”different\” and a lot of times when we don\’t understand, or agree, and our mouth is our weapon. We can tear some stuff up!!! LOL But it\’s not fair to you as the husband, or to your family.

Here\’s a video for ya.

Why did I get married? …………PT6

I\’ve always said that in a relationship I can do away with a lot of things, but cheating is not one of them.

When you\’re married and have a family at home. A woman or man should never go outside of that marriage. It creates chaos and tension in the home. Being a single woman, I have seen the many effects that cheating in a relationship does. It tears down communication and trust. If the persons involved would take just a few seconds to create a mental picture of what it would be like to lose their family to cheating maybe it would stop them. To lose the home you work so hard for, the family you have, the loving wife who use to adore you, the husband who took you in his arms and told you over, and over how much he loved you would be a shame.

A lot of times people don\’t think about the consequences, they just act out on feelings. Its all cool to see old people that you use to kick it with, or people you had feelings for, but that should always remain in the past. They should never become a part of your present. This is your life, this is what you\’ve work so hard to get, don\’t lose it all just because you decided to step out of the marriage. Think about what you do, before you do it.

Look and follow this video closely, it just may save your marriage.
